Dubai CommerCity (DCC), the Middle East's first free zone focused on digital commerce, has formed new partnerships with two AI technology companies. These deals aim to boost online retail growth and improve trade efficiency in the UAE.

The free zone, a collaboration between Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ) and Wasl Properties, joined forces with qeen.ai, an e-commerce AI specialist, and Portmind, an AI firm that streamlines international trade operations.

The agreements were revealed at Dubai AI Week (April 21-25), an event supported by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai's Crown Prince and Chairman of the Dubai Future Foundation, WAM reported.

The partnerships align with Dubai's push to become a global leader in AI-driven commerce. Dubai CommerCity and qeen.ai are combining their expertise - DCC's digital commerce infrastructure with qeen.ai's AI solutions - to create a smarter e-commerce ecosystem.

The collaboration focuses on three key areas: intelligent automation, AI-powered customer experiences and streamlined digital sales.

"Our partnership with qeen.ai reflects Dubai CommerCity's commitment to supporting the emirate's vision to become a global hub for artificial intelligence and a leader in shaping the future of digital economies, in line with the ambitions of Dubai's Economic Agenda (D33)," said Mitch Bittermann, Senior Vice President - Commercial at Dubai CommerCity.

"By integrating intelligent automation and agentic AI solutions into our ecosystem, we are enhancing the competitiveness of e-commerce businesses and contributing to a thriving AI-driven economy that attracts global talent and investment," he added.

Dina Alsamhan, Co-founder of qeen.ai, emphasized that the partnership with Dubai CommerCity strengthens the UAE's digital commerce ecosystem.

The collaboration combines DCC's market access with qeen.ai's AI solutions to help SMEs automate operations, adapt to local markets, and optimize performance for global competitiveness.

This alliance aims to transform regional e-commerce by enabling smaller businesses to scale effectively in the digital economy. The partnership also integrates Portmind's Sail platform to streamline customs processes for DCC businesses.

The AI-powered solution automates shipping documentation, compliance checks, and data management, resulting in faster clearances, real-time tracking, and lower operational costs, enhancing trade efficiency within the free zone.

The UAE's e-commerce market is projected to grow beyond AED 48.8 billion by 2028. These new partnerships align with national goals to boost the digital economy and establish Dubai as a global leader in advanced trade and technology.
