Property Millionaire Samuel Leeds Offers Uber Driver a Dream Job
A routine ride in Dubai led to a full-time role, accommodation on The Palm, and a dramatic career shift for one driver.

Property investor and educator Samuel Leeds has expanded his international lifestyle after purchasing a second home in Dubai with his wife, Amanda. The couple now divides their time between Dubai, England, and Africa as their business interests and family life continue to grow across multiple countries.
Their recent move to the Middle East led to an unexpected and heartwarming turn of events when a routine Uber journey became a life-changing opportunity for one driver.
While preparing their new Dubai home, Amanda Leeds ordered an Uber to collect baby furniture for the couple's one-year-old child. During the ride, the driver, Shakeel, struck up a friendly conversation and asked about her plans for the day. Impressed by his warmth, professionalism, and willingness to help, Amanda asked whether he would be available to remain as her personal driver for the rest of the day.

According to the family, Shakeel went far beyond what would normally be expected. He helped carry heavy items, transported the furniture carefully, and even assisted with assembling it once they arrived home.
When Samuel heard how helpful Shakeel had been, he made a decisive move—offering him a full-time role as the family's personal driver. The position included accommodation within the family's newly purchased mansion on The Palm, one of Dubai's most prestigious and exclusive addresses.
For Shakeel, the offer was nothing short of transformative. The opportunity to live and work on The Palm alongside the Leeds family was, he said, "too good to pass up."
Samuel further equipped Shakeel with a brand-new luxury seven-seater Nissan to drive the family. Later that same day, he surprised Amanda by matching it with his-and-hers Cadillac Escalade seven-seaters, reinforcing the couple's new chapter in Dubai.
Speaking about the decision, Samuel emphasised that it was about more than convenience.
"Hiring Shakeel was never about replacing my wife's independence. It was about giving her freedom and flexibility," he said. "As a husband, I believe my role is not just to provide gifts or nice gestures—although those matter and should never stop. One of the most meaningful things you can give your partner is an easier life."
Shakeel now works exclusively for the family at their beach villa on The Palm, driving them to appointments, taking the children to extracurricular activities, and assisting with day-to-day responsibilities.
"I'm grateful to be working my dream job with such a wonderful and kind family," he said. "While I enjoyed my time driving for Uber, this new opportunity is a real blessing."
Samuel added that the decision was also deeply personal, a gesture of appreciation for his wife.
"Shakeel is a real asset to our family, and we've become very close with him. Hiring him has been a real help to my amazing wife more than anything. Amanda sacrificed so much in the early years while I was building my business and taking risks. This is just a small way of saying thank you and showing love."
