Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum launched the "Barwa" program, which the Dubai Land Department created in partnership with the Community Development Authority to empower senior citizens and People of Determination.

Barwa is the first program of its kind in the region and a socially focused, sustainable real estate initiative designed to support the well-being of people, WAM reported.

The program aims to help senior citizens and People of Determination in Dubai manage their property assets more easily and independently. It also promotes family bonds and social stability by offering tailored property solutions to meet their specific needs.

The initiative supports the goals of the Dubai Social Agenda 33 and the Real Estate Sector Strategy 2033, aiming to improve quality of life, promote equal opportunities, and ensure inclusion within a sustainable development framework.

The program was officially launched at the Dubai Land Department (DLD), where a key agreement was signed between DLD and the Community Development Authority (CDA). Eng. Marwan Ahmed Bin Ghalita, Director General of DLD, and Hessa Bint Essa Buhumaid, Director General of CDA, signed the agreement in the presence of both organizations' CEOs.

Additional partnerships were signed with four real estate companies — Harbour Real Estate, On Plan Real Estate, Al Ruwad Real Estate, and SBK Real Estate. Service trustee centres Afnan and Al Tabou also joined to provide direct support to the program's beneficiaries.

Marwan highlighted that Barwa reflects DLD's mission to deliver high-quality real estate services while supporting key community groups. He praised the collaboration with CDA and called the program a strong example of government cooperation focused on human well-being.

He added that Barwa is not just a service initiative — it aims to simplify property management, safeguard property rights, and offer personalised services that ensure independence and peace of mind for its users.

The program aligns with the "Year of Community" theme, reinforcing Dubai's commitment to social inclusion and care. Buhumaid said that the Barwa program is a strong example of how government entities can work together to support priority groups.

She emphasized CDA's commitment to helping senior citizens and People of Determination access services with dignity, ensuring their social and economic stability. She noted that long-term partnerships between institutions are key to creating lasting social impact.

The collaboration with the Dubai Land Department connects social data with real estate services to offer personalised solutions based on individual needs.

In March, Dubai Municipality introduced the "Safe Water for a Healthy Community" initiative in partnership with the Community Development Authority (CDA), focusing on improving water quality in senior citizens' homes and villas.
