Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, approved the first distribution of housing and benefits package for Abu Dhabi citizens in 2024.

This package, approved under the directives of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has a total value of AED2.18 billion and has been distributed to 1,502 citizens across Abu Dhabi.

The housing benefits package includes housing loans, ready-built houses, and residential land grants, which are valued at AED2.082 billion, helping 1,407 citizens across the emirate. Senior citizens, retirees with limited incomes, and families of deceased citizens have been exempted from housing loan payments, totaling over AED98 million. This exemption has directly helped 95 citizens in Abu Dhabi.

"The distribution of this year's first housing benefits package highlights our wise leadership's continued dedication to meeting the needs of our citizens and addressing their housing demands," Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, was quoted as saying by WAM.

"This initiative strives to improve the welfare of our citizens and their families, promote stability, and nurture familial and social cohesion within the emirate, all while advancing its comprehensive development," he added.

Al Shorafa expressed his "sincere gratitude and deep appreciation" to the President of the UAE and the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi for their directives to disburse the housing benefits package.

He noted that this approval further reiterates the emirate's "unwavering commitment to enhancing the housing sector for citizens," adding that it is aligned with the leadership vision to enhance the quality of life for the people in the UAE.
