Dubai World Dermatology and Laser Conference and Exhibition (Dubai Derma) 2024 highlighted the significance of e-commerce in enhancing sales of skin care products.

Local brands in the skincare and wellness segments are seeking opportunities to reach their target audience amid continued expansion in the global e-commerce market.

The latest collaboration announced between INDEX Trading and Investment and South Korea's Global Trade Development Agency (GTDA) is set to transform the region's e-commerce landscape.

INDEX Trading and Investment on Wednesday signed a partnership deal with GTDA during the three-day exhibition, which is being held at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), in the presence of GTDA Chairman Joo Taek Youn.

The deal will allow South Korean beauty and skincare products to launch in diverse markets, with the help of INDEX Trading's regional knowledge and GTDA's expertise in sourcing top-tier skincare solutions.

INDEX Trading and GTDA aim to introduce a new brand concept featuring skincare brands from around the world to the UAE for business-to-consumer B2C sales, with plans to include diverse brands from South Korea in the future.

The partnership's focus is not only on spotlighting skincare beauty but also on promoting sustainable and eco-friendly brands.

Vice Chairman and Group CEO of INDEX Holding Anas AlMadani, who was also present during the event, praised the collaboration and said it is a "pivotal moment in bridging cultures and delivering top-tier skincare offerings to consumers," WAM reported.

The vice chairman noted that the company aims to first start an online store that will help thousands of brands scale up in the region and offer quick delivery. He also shared his excitement to announce a partnership with a sustainable and natural cosmetics brand.

He pointed out that this collaboration will help the United Arab Emirates residents to have access to more unique high-end brands from all over the world.

"We aim to revolutionize the skincare industry in Dubai and the wider MENA region. Our partnership signifies our shared commitment to offering customers high-quality, innovative, and sustainable skincare solutions that meet their evolving needs and preferences," he added.

Aside from the online store, Al Madani noted that the consumers will also be able to access these products offline in "Fall in Beauty" stores, announcing that they will be launched soon in various locations in the country and abroad.
