The 19th edition of the SteelFab exhibition opened at Expo Centre Sharjah (ECS) on Monday, bringing together 600 brands and 300 global companies.

Organized by the Centre with support from the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), the four-day event provides a platform where manufacturers, producers and suppliers can showcase their latest innovations produced by various companies and factories from 35 countries, including the United States, China, India, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, chairman of SCCI and ECS, and was attended by Salem Ali Al Muhairi, chairman of the Municipal Council of Sharjah City, alongside several members of the SCCI and the ECS Board of Directors.

Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, director-general of SCCI, and Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of ECS, were also present during the event along with several government officials, businessmen, investors, manufacturers and representatives of top global companies and factories related to the steel industry.

"We have witnessed a qualitative surge in the global engagement in SteelFab, providing strong momentum for the iron and steel industry — a pillar of the industrial renaissance sweeping the UAE," Al Owais said, as per WAM.

He went on to praise the UAE government for supporting the steel industry, noting that it is the backbone for numerous manufacturing sectors and infrastructure projects.

Talking about the platform the exhibition provides, Al Owais said it is an "opportunity to exchange expertise and experience, catalyze increased innovation and leverage the latest technologies and tools of the fourth industrial revolution in the manufacturing field."

Al Midfa, on the other hand, praised this edition of SteelFab, as it has brought international and regional leaders in the sector together to showcase their latest products and launch them in global markets.

Furthermore, this exhibition allows investors to capitalize on the program of events and talk face-to-face with leading experts, innovators, suppliers and consumers from global markets, exploring promising future opportunities in the sector.

SteelFab exhibition will run until Thursday. It is open between 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., allowing representatives of companies, factories and industrial plants to learn about technology-driven machinery and equipment to save effort, time and cost during production.
