Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai on Monday honored the Dubai Government Excellence Awards winners at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

The winners included 12 government entities and eight individuals. The prime minister praised the Dubai Government Excellence Program, launched 27 years ago, for recognizing the outstanding performance of Dubai's Government officials.

"Today, the Government of Dubai represents a global model, and we have ambitions in line with our society's expectations to further enhance government work and shape one of the world's leading cities," he said, as reported by WAM.

The UAE prime minister went on to congratulate all the winners and participants on their achievements, calling them pioneers and role models in performance and innovation.

"I am proud of the Government of Dubai for its continual pursuit of excellence and its culture of healthy competition, which ultimately benefits the people it serves. Its ambitions know no bounds, and the Dubai Government Excellence Program continues to set the bar even higher with every edition," he added.

The ceremony was attended by Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the UAE; and Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports and Chairman-Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group.

Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Sports Council; Sheikh Hasher bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Media Incorporated; Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), and other senior government officials were also present.

In the organizational category, 12 awards were given out after assessing 30 government entities. Whereas, eight individuals received awards as part of the Dubai Excellence Medals.

The 2024 edition of the awards introduced three new categories for organizations: Most Future-Ready Entity, Entity in Digital Enablement, and Best Government Joint Initiative.

The winners were assessed under a thorough evaluation process based on the updated model for government excellence, which was launched by the Crown Prince of Dubai in February 2023.

This model focuses on criteria such as social impact, future readiness, and the development of human competencies - based on three pillars: the vision, the distinctive value, and the development enablers.
