PureHealth, the largest healthcare platform in the Middle East, has registered AED one billion on local procurement to support the UAE's National ICV Program since the first quarter of 2023.

The program is part of the UAE's plan to boost the industrial sector's GDP contribution to AED 300 billion by 2031.

PureHealth disclosed the figures at Make it in the Emirates Forum held at the Abu Dhabi Energy Centre on May 27-28, noting that the healthcare platform is working toward a goal of AED 13 billion in local procurement by 2032.

The largest healthcare platform initially committed AED 10 billion to local procurement when it signed an agreement with the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) to join the National ICV Program in 2022.

Acknowledging the recent milestone, Omar Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of MoIAT said, "The Ministry is proceeding, in light of the directives of the wise leadership and the strategic vision of the UAE, to promote the ICV Program as part of the "Projects of the 50" of the UAE."

"This initiative plays a vital role in enhancing and empowering the growth and competitiveness of the industrial and advanced technology sectors, and supporting investors in the country, in line with the Ministry's objectives to create an attractive environment for both local and international investment," he added, according to WAM.

The ICV Program has grown significantly since it started, contributing AED 67 billion to the national economy in 2023. The range of products available for purchase increased to 1,400 with total purchase agreements worth AED 120 billion.

Al Suwaidi said there were more announcements and new purchasing opportunities at the third "Make in the Emirates Forum."

"By directing additional resources from the government and private sector to the national economy, the ICV program stimulates economic growth, thus enhancing investment attractiveness in the industrial sector, especially in priority industries such as health care," he added.

Shaista Asif, Group CEO of PureHealth, said that the healthcare platform is a committed member of the National ICV Program and supports the objectives of "Operation 300 Billion" as well as the UAE's efforts to create a world-leading healthcare system.
