The UAE government has launched a comprehensive guide on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology across key sectors. The Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications Office announced on Sunday that the program, dubbed "Generative AI," will help government entities leverage the benefits of AI in vital areas, including education, transportation, and health care.

Launched under the directives of UAE Vice President and Dubai Ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to adopt avant-garde technologies in government work models, Generative AI is expected to help the country advance its research efforts as it keeps pace with the latest digital advancements. The guide will also help streamline government services and automate customer service inquiries for better response times and efficiency, reported Zawya.

On Sunday, the Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications and Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, His Excellency Sultan Al Olama, took to Twitter to announce the launch of the Generative AI Guide. "Today, we launched a comprehensive guide on the use of Generative AI applications in line with the directives of our leadership, which emphasizes the need to intensify efforts towards the adoption of future technology and keeping pace with the developments in the digital sector," he wrote.

"Our aim is to leverage the positive capabilities of technology while also undertaking intensive efforts to develop legislative and regulatory frameworks that limit the negative impact of technology and ensure a better digital economy," he added.

The Generative AI Guide offers a detailed exposition of generative AI and presents the challenges and opportunities that come with various digital technologies. It also recommends different approaches for the effective management of these technologies and demonstrates 100 use-cases and applications of generative AI, including language translation, music composition, text creation, and image and video synthesis.

The guide also showcases the potential of the technology in information dissemination, particularly in government services, as well as customer feedback analysis. These applications ultimately provide decision-makers with insights to create more effective policies and improve the existing ones.

The UAE is projected to spend $20 billion on digital technology over the next three years, according to a recent report by the Boston Consulting Group. Its digital economy is also expected to double its contribution to the country's domestic product from 9.7 percent to 19.4 percent in the next 10 years, according to The National.
