Dubai Media Council (DMC) announced the launch of the Emirati Media Talent Pledge initiative under the directives of Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the DMC.

The initiative, announced at the Arab Media Forum (AMF) on Tuesday, aims to develop a strong partnership between national media talent and the private sector. This year's AMF was a part of the Arab Media Summit, which also included the Arab Youth Media Forum, the Arab Media Award, and the Arab Social Media Influencers Award.

Dubai Press Club is responsible for the implementation of this initiative, aiming to provide mentorship, internship, and job opportunities with leading media organizations for talented individuals, especially media students.

Speaking at the launch, the Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai praised Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, for his commitment to supporting and encouraging young talents.

"By fostering an environment that nurtures creativity and innovation, we aim to provide young talents with the tools needed to thrive in an evolving media environment. Our goal is to enable them to lead the development of local media, drive journalistic excellence, and contribute significantly to the nation's progress," he said, according to WAM.

"Through these efforts, we are confident that we can build a dynamic media sector that empowers young media talent to express their talent and maximize their capabilities," he added.

Sheikh Ahmed explained that this initiative supports the Dubai Media Council's strategic objectives and its comprehensive plan to strengthen the media sector in Dubai, adding that the upcoming phase will see a series of initiatives aimed at increasing youth involvement in the industry.

He shared that these initiatives will be implemented in collaboration with global media outlets based in Dubai alongside local media organizations that are experts in media training, adding that the "goal is to equip young talents with the necessary tools to make meaningful contributions to the media sector."

Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and President of the Dubai Press Club; Nehal Badri, Secretary General of Dubai Media Council; and Dr. Maitha bint Essa Buhumaid, Director of the Dubai Press Club (DPC), attended the launch.
