This year's Unmanned Systems (UMEX) and Simulation and Training (SimTEX) exhibition and conference, set to take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from Jan. 23 and 25, is expected to become the biggest and most comprehensive iteration of the highly anticipated event.

Preparations for the three-day event, organized by ADNEC Group and the Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), were discussed during a press conference held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre on Wednesday.

Major General Mubarak Saeed bin Ghafan Al Jabri, chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee of the event, said it has witnessed significant developments in all areas since its launch in 2015.

He then cited various factors to the event's success over the years, such as unlimited support from UAE leaders, the country's transformation into a global economic hub, sophisticated infrastructure and the ongoing and dedicated efforts of the Supreme Organising Committee.

According to the chairman, this year's run of the event will be the biggest and most comprehensive one. Its opening ceremony will reportedly feature local and international senior officials and guests who will showcase the significant development in unmanned systems industries.

"It is expected that over their three days, the exhibitions will see the influx of decision-makers and specialists eager to learn about the most prominent vital sectors experiencing unprecedented development and growth, thanks to artificial intelligence technologies that have revolutionized the world in recent years," the chairman said, as per WAM.

"We are also striving to provide the appropriate environment for emerging companies to find opportunities to connect with local and international partners, build strategic partnerships and open channels for direct and indirect investment in the innovations and technologies of these emerging companies in these vital sectors," he added.

Al Jabri noted that apart from exhibitions and a live flying demonstration, UMEX and SimTEX will also include a conference, which will be on Jan. 22 and will have the theme "Unmanned Systems, Ascending to New Spaces for Emerging Technologies and Unprecedented Impacts."

"Our cooperation with ADNEC Group in these unique events, dedicated to unmanned systems, simulation and training, artificial intelligence and robotics, marks a milestone in the world of specialized exhibition industry," he explained.

The upcoming event, which will be attended by major international companies and experts, will be held under the directives of the Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Meanwhile, the EDGE Group will serve its strategic partner.
