Following the success of last year's MENA IPO Summit, Dubai Financial Market (DFM) is gearing up for the second installment, promising an even bigger and more exciting edition with "The Capital Market Summit."

The summit is scheduled for May 1 and 2 at Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai and will provide a platform to boost collaboration, drive innovation, and cultivate dynamic dialogue within Dubai's vibrant IPO and capital market ecosystem.

Speaking about the upcoming summit, Hamed Ali, CEO of DFM and Nasdaq Dubai, said that it will contribute to "enhancing the exceptional progress that Dubai has witnessed in its transformation into a leading global financial center," WAM reported.

As per the DFM CEO, Dubai has attracted more than one trillion dirhams in public offerings from various categories of investors since 2021.

He noted that this second edition of the summit will feature a unique mix of participants from listed companies and upcoming IPOs alongside a select group of regional and global experts and partners from stock exchanges, regulatory authorities, and financial institutions.

Ali further said that this summit will provide a platform, supporting economic sectors and decision-makers to promote and support growth in the capital markets arena.

Arshad Ghafur, President MENA and Bank of America, recalled that the bank formally established its operations in the United Arab Emirates in February 1972. He noted that the bank has "witnessed first-hand the transformation of the economy and the capital markets driven by the wider vision of Dubai's Leadership."

He added: "Leveraging on our leading position in the booming primary market for IPOs, which is supported by a long-standing commitment to be one of the top traders and providers of liquidity in the secondary market, Bank of America has worked closely with key stakeholders to achieve a common goal: structural sustainable growth & development."

Maria Ivanova, Citi Country Officer and Banking Head, UAE, expressed pride in being a key sponsor of the DFM's second Capital Market Summit and contributing to discussions on capital market advancements.

Last year, DFM alongside Nasdaq Dubai signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Shanghai Stock Exchange to strengthen ties between Dubai and China markets.
