The global aerospace engineering company Sanad, based in Abu Dhabi and owned by Mubadala Investment Company PJSC (Mubadala), has signed a renewal contract worth USD 145 million (AED532 million) for five years with Asiana Airlines, the second largest airline in South Korea.

This extension contract, announced at the MRO Americas event in Chicago on Thursday, underscores Sanad's dedicated work in the aerospace industry, providing maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for V2500 engines.

Mansoor Janahi, Managing Director and Group CEO of Sanad explained that the company's "unique standing as the sole V2500 full overhaul MRO center in the Middle East has been pivotal in supporting V2500 customers worldwide since 2012," WAM reported.

With more than 250 inductions over the past 5 years, Sanad has showcased profound expertise in the aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) sector, as per the group CEO.

"This collaboration reaffirms our unwavering commitment to excellence within the aerospace industry, positioning Abu Dhabi as an innovative and leading hub for aviation solutions and solidifying its reputation as a premier destination for cutting-edge aviation services to top global airlines," Janahi added.

Baha Salama, General Manager of MRO at Sanad, also spoke during the event and said how this renewal of partnership with Asiana Airlines shows the company's dedication, noting that Sanad will work together with the airlines for another five years.

"Our relentless drive for excellence is delivering innovative and technical solutions, aligning with Abu Dhabi's vision of supporting the global aviation sector with top-tier talent, technology, and expertise, which further solidifies its position as a global aviation hub," Salama said.

"We are excited to continue our collaboration with Asiana Airlines and contribute to their sustained operational success," he added.

Hoon Bae, Principal General Manager Purchasing of Asiana Airlines, said Sanad has been selected as MRO service provider for another five years because the airline is convinced that the company can satisfy the requirement to support our A320 and A321ceo fleet.

Sanad has been in aviation maintenance, repair, and MRO for over 35 years. Since 2012, the company has worked on over 600 V2500 engines. They have a wide range of clients, including over 30 airlines and 10 strategic partners from all over the world.
